Beginning
Argentine Tango Boot Camp
A Little Story
This boot camp series was born in
September 2013. I was invited to teach a beginner tango class in Huntington, West
Virginia. Because Huntington
is four hours from where I live in Florence,
Kentucky, I designed a format to
teach beginner students fundamentals of Argentine tango in a very efficient
way. The students met monthly for one four hour session, learning material that
would have been presented during a 24 week program. They did this in only 3
months! The goal was to get the dancers
dancing in a shorter period of time, and the format was successful! After three Boot Camp sessions, Huntington has now become
AH Tango (Ashland-Huntington), and they held their first successful Milonga in
January 2014. It was an honor to work with such dedicated students who have
already moved their dancing to a higher level.
Testimonials

are just the beginning of a great experience

"If you want to learn Argentine Tango, it's best to learn it from a real Argentine. Patricia Paz is one who knows how to do it and knows how to teach it effectively."
Jim Wallace, Charleston

"I feel that Argentine Tango is truly the dance
connoisseur’s dance. And…Patricia Paz is an excellent teacher from whom
to learn it."

About the Boot Camp
Boot camps are designed for students who cannot attend weekly classes, or for dance instructors who want to start an Argentine tango group.
Each boot camp, held monthly, is four hours of instruction, teaching a different fundamental. Two short breaks are included during which reading material and a CD with Tango music is provided.
I suggest you record all material covered during the boot camp to review during practice. Your organizer will hold weekly practices, which are necessary to prepare you for the next boot camp.

No
previous experience is necessary, just the willingness to learn a lot in a
short period of time. Boot camps are perfect for those with some dance
experience or even those who are newcomers to Argentine Tango.
